A collaborative project on housing justice in inner-city Johannesburg.
ASF-UK’s Change by Design programme and 1to1 – Agency of Engagement are leading a multi year, multidisciplinary group of action-research initiatives to address some of the housing challenges facing inner city Johannesburg.
Workshop 1: Jan 23 – 28, 2023
The first workshop focused on a range of medium- to high-rise buildings that dealt with inadequate housing conditions and the risk of displacement. Building upon 1to1’s ongoing activities and partnerships with advocacy groups and grassroots leadership, the aim was to support local residents and their organizations in their efforts to create fairer living conditions in the area.
